Models, Talents and Independent Artist's Professional Associations

Professional Model Association of the Philippines is an organization ran by models.
PMAP was established on February 11, 1987 and is based out of the Philippine Islands.  They have many programs that deal with talents and management.  Their services include maintaining and improving standards for seeking professional services and of legal and financial consultants.   As an association mostly mistaken to be an agency they have honed to be one of South East Asia’s most promising associations to be trusted by most industries in the world.  They have brought together and fostered unity among the fashion industry not just the Philippines but around the world.
I particularly like the especial project and event that they hold annually to include the annual outreach programs like the World Wildlife Foundation.

Modeling Association of Americans International Inc.  MAAI is based out of Miami, Florida.  Founded in 1960, has 52 years of success to date.  They promote opportunities to every one in the world.  Has the eye for talents, confidence and recognition to help promote a positive attitude for today’s youth.  Their annual conventions draws models and talented people and then put them in front of international agents, casting directors and Artist and Repertoire (A&R) agents and media scouts.

A&R (Artist & Repertoire) Live helps out artist.  Based out of Metro Atlanta, Georgia.  In business since 1993, with their Music Edge Program they have been used by plenty of independent artists around the world.  Helps promote music, features, labels and works with the likes of Urban, Pop, Rock, Dance, Hip-Hop, Rap, Dance and Country.  They guarantee that your music will be heard with likes of major music industry moguls.  Although not an agency they have hosted a near 2,800 teleconferences around the world and critique about 12,500 artists in different countries.  I truly trust A&R Live and happy to have done business with them in the past.  They are an epitome to all INDIE artist around the world in seek of that paramount hunger.

All in all I particularly wrote about these three association’s because these are trusted and guaranteed professionals that I would involve myself with for future work with models, independent artist and for anyone that wants to learn more about what this industry and the future of our industry in its entirety.
Nowadays Dreams are sold and that is not what I am or the people around me are about.  I think that one should follow their dreams, but at the same time get educated about it before just jumping the gun with all these different obstacles that people put other people through.  Communication will always be key in any form of marketing and networking that’s why I look for positive people to work with so that I may educate myself and others of my trial and tribulations throughout my life and dealing with the on growing industry today.

A Passion for Fashion... Slightly Mistaken

 A Passion for Fashion…Slightly Mistaken

“Slightly Mistaken” as Isaac Mizrahi talks about in his story on www.TED.com
Isaac Mizrahi is one of the most creative and known American fashion designer’s to this day.

Isaac is diverse, dynamic and distinct.  He inspired his audience by giving them a piece of his life story in a comical manner that makes it more interesting in my eyes.  Overcoming adversity through his clothing apparel and his new deal with Target, Isaac inspires everyone with his love for fashion that clearly states “Wow” yet inexpensive at local Targets around the nation.

He inspired me of his tribute to women and television and how they are portrayed through their characters, whether it was Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood or Greta Garbo.  I can totally relate to what he spoke of about portrayal of women now and then.  His positive attitude towards youth and how people and their children and their priority and their well being.  This part really touched my heart because in this society some things are accepted and some aren’t.  He talks about inspiration and his insomnia about creativity on a slightly mistaken idea that becomes one of interest to him.  He narrated, “Peter and the Wolf in New York which he takes pride in.  He is inspired and motivated by astrology and colors.  Isaac was open about his sexuality and talks about the man of his dreams and his love for his mother.  His overall speech about how he started designing at an early age.  He would make puppet outfits at the age of eight years old and by the time he was thirtteen he began making clothes for friends and his family.
As a celebrity designer he inspires and motivates me of his multi tasking abilities. His delivery in his speech had the audience interested and humored with him as he spoke of his story.  Isaac is a very talented person and I truly respect what he has done for himself, family and the shopping therapy that we all encounter on a daily basis.

Division of Minority and Women Business Entrepreneurship Industry

Division of Minority and Women Business Entrepreneurship Industry:  GREAT READ!!

 Authoress Anna Black

Chicago Native Anna Black.  Not only is she an authoress, lets just say she is a woman of power through her life and through the eyes people that she has come across.  Can we say Minority and Women Business? She is heavily involved!

Anna Black is an INSPIRATION!! I have had the opportunity to work with Mrs. Black in the past.  I highly encourage everyone to check out this Authoress.

An inspiration and educator to the society with her novels, she writes about the daily lives and experiences of normal people like us.  Anna black delivers an awesome storyline that has captured many people.  The characters in her novels are not just names, they are people and life is given in aspect that the reader cannot put the book down.

I am writing about Mrs. Black because she is one of my mentors.  Today I had the opportunity to meet President & CEO DeLisa Espada of Strategic Business Solutions Ultd. Inc.  I picked Authoress Anna Black because she similarly started out her business out of her home and kept writing and writing.  When Mrs. Espada mentioned to me that she also started her business from the house and from they’re branched out and became what they are now and creating business synergy. I thought about my sister and long time friend of Authoress Anna Black.  I thought to myself that there is a wide range of entertainment besides me trying to open my business and or club or even getting into club management made me really think about I can do it SUCCESSFULLY.  Not only are these women making and paving waves for the rest of us and they are making history.  I thought to myself, if and when I grow up I want to be like these women; my name isn’t “LegaZy” for a nothing.
I didn’t know about certain resources until I spoke to Ms. Espada.  In my eyes her business promotes equality of economic opportunities for minority and women owned businesses.  So please be on the look out for my establishment to open so that I may be of help to any venues that any authors, actors, comedians and artist in in the industry.

Authoress Anna Black is just one of the examples I used for this particular businesses that is booming before our eyes.  Let’s not forget about “Knowledge is Power”, but without reading knowledge might not be as powerful.

Below are the Novels by Authoress Anna Black.  Check out the trailers.

Can you tell me who character Cherae is on the Novel “Luck of the Draw”?

Hip Hop, R&B and Rap Artists

Hip Hop, R&B and Rap Artists

I was Just going through YouTube and looking for the best thing to blog about.  So I decided to reminisce the love I had for music.  Yesterday’s music is gone and the craft has gone real deep with materialistic things and is all about “money, cars and *oe’s and this is what I call garbage.  I am not trying to be negative or defame anyone’s character at all, but what are we teaching our future?  Simplicity and easy listening is fading away.  I hear and read about fights against and between label and artists.  It is so ridiculous how the industry has become.  Oh and how about videos and lyrical content in music now a days.  Artist coming from different angles led alone some things they rap and sing about gets perceived differently to some.

Not all of us understand Hip Hop, R&B and Rap artist's and their language.  As we all know Hip Hop, R&B and Rap had been around for a little more than 20 years. What ever happened to musical expressions through dancing “Break Dancing”?  How about Poetry?  Okay, so I am still doing my own personal research and I am not saying all new music is bad, I feel that most of the lyrical contents are not as they used to be.  What about all the “Rivalries” and “Disses”? Not only is has gotten personal but now its televised and or shout out to the media in many viral ways.

Remember VH1 and MTV when Hip Hop, R&B and Rap started to get audience worldwide?  Let’s not forget new media technologies that embrace our daily lives today for example Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.  Who remembers MySpace and when Hotmail was in?  As a proud parent of two little women, I always monitor what they listen to.  Today’s radio has been open to more new words that I can even collect in my own personal registry of a dictionary.  I do believe in the hunger that anyone has for the music industry.

I for one am a 70’s baby, so I have been through changes when it comes to music and what it was in yesteryears and what it is now.  This really shows my age, but I am a proud ambassador of positive attitude will reflect today’s youth.  It is real hard for me to write about these changes because change can be good and then again it can go sour for anyone in this industry to include myself.  As a model, promoter and future manager for independent artists, I could get stuck between a rock and a hard place because of how I feel about lyrical content and perception with lasting impression of current and incumbent artists.

When I asked my 12 year old daughter what were her thoughts about the music that she hears today, her reply was "Well mommy they play a lot of bad things on the radio and they curse too much" I was at a wow when she said that.  Then my 14 year old mentioned they don't talk about much but "smoking weed and flashy cars, so what happens with the real lyrics mommy?  I couldn't answer her.  That right there is real BAD when a child expresses their feelings about grown up music on radio and television.  Like I said before "Positive Attitude Reflects Today's Youth"  Attitude meaning everything that you are about and walking that fine straight line with everything in life, not have to be perfect but setting that example and being that great role model for our future.

As I review several articles about the change in Hip Hop, R&B and Rap, I particularly like the one on Disco Music.  It talks about Hip Hop- Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.  Hip Hop - Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

“Setting The Record Straight About Kimora & Djimon” By Russell Simmons. (GlobalGrind.com)

Mother, Model, Mogul and Entrepreneur Kimora Lee Simmons Hounsou have made the trending topic since 6 June 2012.  The article from Global Grind is a mere reflection of a family that cares for each other, regardless of any situations.
Russell Simmons goes over what people are talking about when it comes to his
ex-wife Kimora, his business partner, and his best friend.  Rumor has it that Kimora and hubby Djimon are splitting up due to money issues.  He “I called Kimora when I saw all the gossip spreading about her and Djimon splitting and she said it was a waste of energy to comment. Most people don't respond to the media's mischief, but it's my job since I own a website (GlobalGrind.com). And I'll certainly do it for her and my family.” As you all know Russell Simmons is legendary and one of the most motivators in time.
In todays industry it’s hard to have privacy.  The current social media and exposures the internet brings it just seem someone out there will always want to try to make money of trying to invade peoples privacy.  Television and music, it doesn’t not matter just because there are actors and artists present great movies and or music; that do no give anyone the right to just invade their privacy because they are people too.  Their normal day job is simply that what they do is sing and act.  Likewise of what a doctor, a nurse and or an athlete do for a living.
This is their livelihood so why tweet about if they are getting divorce and or they are having money issues or who is getting alimony.  How would you like it if the paparazzi always hand around to see what you and your family is doing?
To some people they think fame is about overexposing their whole existence.  Some people are just there to do their jobs and would like to be left alone.  They are not hurting your pockets and nor paying your bills so why would people just mind their business when it comes to situations like these.
Here is a family that will go far.  Nowadays families that split-up do not even co-inside nor co-exist together to raise their children either they are with their mother or their father.  This right here is a great example of co-parenting.
This family right here is a wonderful example of “passing the common sense test”.  The media just do not have anything to write about.  I truly agree with everything the Kimora said on Twitter, “ if people talk behind your back ~it simply means you are way ahead of them.”

Bottom line, these people haven’t done anything to you! Get over it because you are too busy minding their business instead of yours!!
